So, I've been working on a new project. He's a snippet.
The rain splashed against my face, plastering to my hair in front of my eyes. The treetops were fuzzy through my flame red hair, but at least I was out of the city. I felt disconnected, just lying there in the rain. I was bleeding from somewhere, but it didn't seem to matter.
Between blinks, two figures appeared above me.
"This one's hurt." A woman, her hair was white, cascading down towards me.
"Leave him. The Earth will claim him soon." The man, his voice was deep and gruff. I couldn't make out any features, but he was right, I was done for.
"...His head." Her hand touched my cheek.
"Belinda, leave him." An audible sigh. "You cannot save them all, love."
"But I can save this one."
"Very well, make it quick." He moved out of my line of sight, presumably keeping watch.
Belinda turned back to me. Her smile cut through the rain, and I was no longer afraid.
"Root bless you and keep you, child of Caterine." Her lips pressed against my forehead, and then the world went black.
